that's some high risk playing though, ex. Even though it shows how shallow recruiters are when it comes to hiring, and how they focus more on Who than What. I can almost picture the recruiters eyes (who for some reason looks like Mr T) when he realises you *didn't* do this mock for *that* agency. "I pity the fool who fake mocks!"
Seriously though, you'd think that stuff like big names wouldn't matter, but it does. The only thing a big name shows is that you might be good at getting accounts, doesn't necessarily say anything about the skills you're hired to do.

I just did a series of CD's for this independant record label that basically does blue grass tributes and string quartet tributes of big names...I include those in the portfolio because the designs look like they 'could' be done for the actual artists...in the portfolio I just put 'blue grass tribute to the Counting Crows' Client: CMH Recording..
prospective client really has no clue, it affords them the opportunity to think 'Hey this guy has worked on some tribute cd's for Counting Crows' or whatever. If they figure it out, no harm no foul, I didnt ever say that it was for the band. I just set it out there for them to decide.
