Lookin to buy an external hard drive...any suggestions?

i have an 80gb external FW "ice cube" drive, its great.
and lacie also has a good reputation.

yeah, buy a case and a drive those setups are cheaper and you pick your own drive. Typically the enclosure costs 25-35$ and then you can get a reasonable drive say 100-160 gig for about 80-110$.

have external lacie 120 for about 2 years now, havent had any problems and i know lacie has great customer service if there ever is one

Think about buying an internal drive with a connector for external use. That's only if it's going to be sitting on your desk, if you're travelling, you'll need a case.

i've got a powerbook G4.
so i'm looking for somthing that can sit on my desk and work for me, but at the same time isn't to much hassle moving around if i have to.
Im buying it to work on digital film, so i need somthing with high speed 7200 probably, no less.

My friend, I've got you covered...I've got the 120gb western digital (choice 3)...USB2.0, but no firewire, that's $30-50 more. Silky smooth and works well for my digital video stuff. Get as much disk as you can afford...120GB goes quicker than I would think!

kbags, you could buy the drive separate and an enclosure and chunk off more than 50 dollars on most of those deals.... usb or fw.
