on a yearly basis(you can also say it with a slightly french accent-"bassees"!)..on a yearly 'bassees' how much do you donate to charitable organisations or give away on a whim, or quim even ! i reckon i gave a away roughly three and a half grand a year, so that's a sixteenth of my salary, i get £56k= fifty six thousand pounds! daft eh?

i donate all my old clothes and furniture to homeless shelters (tax deductible), and give money to things i believe in, when i have some extra.
like amnesty international, npr, planned parenthood, endangered wildlife fund, various shelters.
last year it added up to like $1500.
but i don't make £56K. Daft, eh?

one christmas eve after drunkenly stumbling out of a bar I got into a huge fight with the missus because I gave a homeless bird a tenner, it was christmas for fucks sake, thought the least I could do was treat her to a rock or two, it was freezing.

Tipping is just a way to bribe people for better service/favors. It's a currupt tradition.

I dont tip if they are miserable twats and I always check to see if the service is included, if the service was good then I think its fair play.. unless the food is over pricey, s'all a matter of weighing up how you felt about the meal etc.

i do find not tipping waiters/waitresses while they do a good job quite rude. they are really underpaid and depend on tips. maybe they can't find another job for whatever reason. what else can they do? social security and live from the state and your tax money?

yeah but like Mimio said, its a corrupt tradition because employers pay shit wages on the basis that "the tips are good" which should be over and above their wages and not considered part of their salary.
