durang: i'm gonna semi-repost this. somehow people get the weirdest ideas. anyways, "i think too many people take this too serious. or really think that europe is dumb. ofcourse they are not taking him serious. that would be like taking papa smurf serious. " so don't worry. we're not going to take obl (what a hip hop name btw) serious. i think it is more news over there than over here. i only read one line about it in the local news. the weather for tomorrow is more imporant. that's how serious we take it.

jack straw certainly isn't taking it seriously. but then again what a great track record our govts have in knowing what to treat seriously...
- durang0
rab >> i dont think europeans are dumb at all. I was responding to the people at the beginning of this post whom considered truce a possibility.
I am fully aware of the total rejection by european states to OBL ploy.
- rabattski0
yeah sorry durang should have taken that bit out. that was partly to a post about the european "common folks" not understanding it. i just copied and pasted it. well you can rest asure papa smurf is taken more serious than obl.

wow...
i'm finding it hard to believe that some folks would rather keep the status quo of bombing, terror, and paranoia in place, rather than just admit that foriegn soldiers in the middle east is a piss poor idea.look.
back in the 80's when the soviets were the 'evil' empire, we had movies like 'red dawn' to watch..
what the hell was that?it was the notion that, if invaded, you fight the hell back.
push the invaders off your ground however you can..(yeah i know..freaky ridiculous movie that was..but still....)
anyhow, flash forward...
you've got military instillations
in saudi arabia, now iraq and afghanistan....these folks don't want us there..
it's hard to grasp...we've been so great to them over the years, propping up cruel dictatorships, covert ops,
the shaw of Iran...blah blah etc.the have a few hundred reasons to hate us.
the last few decades are just the latest insult.now..
terorrism is just freaking wrong.
no innocent deserves to be put in harms way for any reason.but if you were them..wouldn't you be pretty tired of getting bombed by now?
dont' you think that leaving them all the hell alone and trying to establish some kind of normal relations would be a good idea?it may be naieve...but man..
if you put yourself in their shoes for just a sec, it does seem pretty reasonable..get the hell off our land, and bombing the piss out of us, and we'll stop too..
simple enough...
naieve..but simple...

"common folk" was used as a term for the many people that think they know what is going on when all of us really have no idea. was not intended to try and belittle anyone. If that is what you thought
my media has propaganda as well as your media having propaganda..

after reading excelsior1 post i give up (for now)
it seems so easy to believe all the 'news' offered on a silver 'cnn'platter
TAKE OUT!

osama is a very trustworthy man.
- unfittoprint0
If you consider Osama to be an Armageddon Santa Claus, I think it's kind nice of him.
It's like, y'know, we've been good & shit.
- randomBboy0
"get the hell off our land, and bombing the piss out of us, and we'll stop too.."
exador.
what makes osama the authority on that? last time i looked, he didn't have any land..remember, tv reports shows the bad cuz the good doesn't sell advertising space
- exador10
so far, i think you can trust him to keep his word.
stay on our lands, and i or my followers will keep blowing shit up..the whole 'they hate our freedom' nonsense is over...
do you really think they give a crap that some dude in wisconsin can look at a dirty magazine, or that his wife doesn't wear a burka?
no....they don't ...
do they care about foriegn troops on their soil?
uh....yup.
get off their land, and stop bombing them, and i think you'll find that they do likewise...
if the school bully suddenly stops beating the fuck out of the little kid with the lunch money...the little kid of the lunch money normally goes on about his business, and is pretty thankful he's not getting beaten anymore...
- Mimio0
Actually, the little kid grows into an angry young man with violent psychoses who lashes out on many more people than just the bully.

hey random..
a good point there...about him not being the ruler of a country, and not having any land..
but here's a thought ...
the notion of nation states, and armies and legions of regular troops is about as usefull in that region as the redcoats fighting in a line while pioneers shot at them from behind trees..
most of those countries have kingdoms and governments that are barely supported by their citizens..
now that is a tad general, and there are exceptions..
but lets face it,
tribal loyalties, and religeous conviction counts fore more than 'i am from here or there'...if a group of people follow the teachings of a particular imam or whatever..then it doesn't really matter what country they're in...
all the roads, inevitably lead to mecca..
know what i mean?anyhow..i know what you mean, about osama not having any country to represent,...i'm just not sure that applies in the middle east...
but hey...i'm just throwing some ideas around...just talking..ya know?
always curious what the rest of you think....
- randomBboy0
so we leave and do not "free" the country then what? leave the other 90% of the people yo hate us for leaving and not helping them out. and that won't lead to terrorism?
there is no correct answer. we are all damned if we do, and damned if we don't
- durang0
I agree, having foreign troops in arab land (i.e us military bases in saudi arabia) will cause much resentment, but If we didnt have dangerous assholes like saddam attacking people they wouldn't have to be there. The troops in Saudi were there for protection of arab people (mainly kuwaitis) & for a deterrent to saddam. Now that saddam is gone, we were able to remove the troops.
Also, good call on rwanda . . . seems as if the UN just wants to forget that one.

Red Dawn was awesome.
Let it turn.
Let it turn.Wolverines!!!

he knows that nobody gon negotiate with him
when he unleashes the next attack the people will systematically blame the gov for not negotiating
and just to note
britain negotiated with lybia even though kadafi financed terrorist and had WMD's
and as it seems the coalition will negotiate with Al-Sadr who caused the recent riots
what generates you more money in the end?
war or peace?
