Yup...that's what it's like. I see an ambulance pull up to the same hotel everyday. I didn't think this part of the city was as bad as it was until I started workin' here. At first I thought going to lunch/meetings with my laptop tucked in my bag was scary....but I don't think they seem to notice. All they ever want from me is aa quarter or a cigarette it seems.
nLHb...are you from the Island?
- nLHb0
K_Fresh- I am from Cowichan Bay, went to school in Drunken Duncan, City of Totems. Where are you from? I think we may have discussed this before...
I get to go back to good ol' Cow Bay on May Long Weekend and I am SO excited! It has been too long since I have seen the ocean.

my car got jacked a couple months ago from main and 22nd, and i have had it broken into in new west, and downtown. after the police found it they kept it impounded because it was used in a stabbing in burnaby. cost me 1500 bux in total to get it back and fixed. ugh. crackheads are a pain true, but to the guy in toronto who hates vancouver, i was skiing this last weekend and it was 25 degrees at midstation in whistler. cant do that in the t dot. crackheads come here cause they wont freeze to death in the winter. dont leave shit in your car, get the club, a rabid dog in the backseat smell trhe flowers, watch the wweather channel and laugh as the junkies take your stereo for the 15th time this month.
- nLHb0
Ha Ha Sneeth! It's funny cause it's true, and besides Toronto smells like ass.
- K_Fresh0
Haha sneeth...teah....and it's probably still frozen and cold there.
Umm..yeah. nLHb, I think I did ask you before...but I don't think I ever checked back for a response. I grew up in Port Moody, moved to Courtenay for High School, then off to Halifax for Post-sec. Finally..back in Vancouver..and I'm not totally sure if I want to be....
- nLHb0
Ooh! Courtenay... I knew a lot of punk rockers from there. My friend Paul Blyth used to be in a punk band with a bunch of people from Courtenay. What year did you graduate?
I don't know what I want to be either.

and that's why I don't want a car to much head ach, unless you got a garage it's not worth it. with the money you'll save on inssurance by a bus passes, and for money you'll save on repairs and gars take a cab....oh bus your my only friend
- Abandoned0
as for vancouver sucking? wtf. when I was 14 in toronto bums were lined up on young st, I mean ever 2 feet another bum with another sad little sign, it was so bad.
- nLHb0
Why would you even have a car in Vancouver anyways? Public transport is the way to go.
- K_Fresh0
Oh yeah? What band was he in? I'm 23 and gradded in '98 from Vanier, the most un punk rock school ever. Plenty of country lovin' skater punk hatin' people with big trucks and stuff though.
- K_Fresh0
Why have a car? Because everyday I stand on the bus and try and figure our which person the poo and b.o. aromas are coming from.
- AprilRains0
I love Robson street. Tsumani's Mmmmmmm......Sushi.
- nLHb0
I really don't remember what band he was in, it was a long time ago, like eight years! We both went to Cow High, the most hippiest school ever! SO many hippies.
I would never drive in Vancouver, I would probably go insane, rush hour in Calgary makes me crazy and I am sure rush hour in Van is about ten times worse.
- steadyvibe0
I'd rather drive in a car then stand up n a bus squished full of people that smell and talk to themselves.
- Derek20
toronto does smell...
i came to vancouver like 8 days ago... and was amazed by the air... it smells floral!
i grew up here so its good to be back for a bit...
- K_Fresh0
Yeah...I can't remember any of the local bands from back in tha day either. Although I do remember seeing Gob play 8 or 9 years ago at the Courtenay skatepark. Haha.. there was like 50 people there.
Hippies are good......we a bunch of those kids and they all came from Denman and Hornby. A good balance to the redneck population.
Rush hour isn't bad at all....well for me anyway. I work downtown and live just over the Granville St bridge.. so it's 10 minutes at most. Ahhhhhh ....I will agree though, I hate driving in Calgary. All those 1 way streets mess me up....
- Abandoned0
yeah man I remeber be'n stuck in downtown took for ever to get 10 blocks, something retarded like 2 hours or something.
why would you want to live in any other city, you go mountains ocean, and a ton of hotty asians, yum yum :P
- steadyvibe0
Some creepy junkie just walked into my work and asked to use our washroom... SOMEONE LET HER. Now it smells weird.
Eww
- AprilRains0
Calgary is a fun place. My Aunt used to live there, in Ogden :|... ok that place isn't so fun but there are some cool places to hang out downtown. In Vancouver, more relatives of mine live in British Properties but I think Ambleside would be a great place to live.
- K_Fresh0
British Properties eh? Are any of them single? Haha...
