Hey, My boyfriend and i are searching for a new apartment cause we are sick of our car getting broken into. Does anyone have any good places to live, or places we can look?

Your car gets broken into a lot? What part of the city do you live in?
I live in Kits...and it's not so bad for crime....well, at least it's been alright to me so far.

I recommend that you find proper housing, living in a car isn't safe.

Ah...that's not so far from me. I live at Granville/Broadway and it's a nice area. So far, I've yet to spot a thugged out car jackin punk. They could be lurking in the shadows though.....

My bf and i are looking for a place too. we live downtown (robson/burrard. too noisy). we're thinking south granville or gastown. yaletown makes me want to die. main st. isn't bad, but is very "art hipster".

I recomend Commercial Drive. I lived there for two years and it was fantastic.
Great culture and excelent coffee.

Main street is a cool area, i like it but its the fuckers who smash our windows in our car.

Cereal sounds good.
We have been on main street for 5 months, 2 times our car has been broke into, and its funny because we drive a peice of SHIT, seriously people laugh when i drive by so i dont get it.
Ultimatly i want to live on the west side... Its allways greener on the the west side.

I feel for you..I've had my car broken into many a time. I'm actually working at a studio near Main/Hastings. It's awesome. Our building is nice but it's in crackville....and believe it or not, 2 police officers came up and used my office window for surveilance today (we are just above Hastings)....my daily view is definitely interesting....although very sad at the same time.
I haven't driven my car to work for fear of the same thing happening...haha

I love Main and Hastings, it is so pretty this time of year....
Has anyone seen "Fix, The Story of an Addicted City"? It is a documentary about Vancouvers East Side, pretty depressing.
My friend had a studio on the corner of Main and Hastings in an old abbandoned bank and we used to look out his window and watch the junkies (or as I refer to them, living dead people)
