zzzzz.. the FBI knew long before this document that Bin Laden was motivated towards striking within US Borders, i don't think ANY administration prior 9/11 would've released a general warning to the public, we're a reactive society and until the unthinkable happens we're slow to introduce change. i really don't think this is problem specific to the Bush administration, but to our security [before 9/11] as a whole.

...Bin Laden datermined to attack US... more specifically DC... recent surveillance of New York Federal Building... suspicious activity consistent with airplane hijacking...
Now, I'm no National Security Advisor, but seems like these warnings are at least worth looking into. What the hell do people expect, Bin Laden's gonna issue a warning: "Hi, I'm Osama Bin Laden, and on Sept. 11 I will attack the WTC and Pentagon using hijacked airplanes as missiles"??? We don't get specifics... that why we have counterterrorism officials and National Security Advisors to connect dots and reveal things.
Chances are they probably wouldn't have prevented the attacks... but they act like, unless they were given the date, time, and method, it's not their problem. Doesn't happen that way.

something SHOULD come of this. effin' A. plain and simple, they tried to hide this doc for a while. I bet i know who the blacked out country is: Saudi Arabia.
btw...where is the document that says "Saddam Hussein is planning on kicking our asses". We sure effin' moved on that one didn't we?

i dont really think it matters what happens because of this found memo.
if the way they deal with these kinds of threats changes, it's not going to stop shit, because terrorists and the like will find new ways of killing people, and so will we.
it's a big loop and it starts with the government wanting to bomb shit.

the bush admin were more concentrated on planning to invad iraq and installing defense missiles
if you get a warning about hijacking planes, you tell the airlines to tighten up security but no, fuck it, let it happen so we don't need to justify bombing the east to pieces

the fact that they didnt act, and more importantly down graded the threat (clinton made terrorism and counter terrorism tier 1 priorities) speaks volumes. i absolutley think that it could have been prevented, given evidence of threat, plus different threat warnings being issued, but if its not at the top of your agenda with iraq then who cares, i hate conspiracy theory bullshit but the inaction is deplorable. if he gets re-elected it'll be terrible, although the exhange rate is rather good at the moment. £/$
