I have a Herman Miller Red Rocket desk, they dont make em anymore but I LOVE IT.
the shape makes it easy to have everything i need at close reach.
I only have a laptop so the monitor pod is used for my scanner right now.so if your going to build a desk, defiantly incorporate organic curves and shapes that make it ergonomic for your needs. Layers are good too, get that monitor up off of your work space and us the added real estate for more important stuff like a Hula doll or something
