hey kids!!!!
i'm trying to compile a list of design tricks that have gone beyond simple overuse to the realm of full blown cliche.as of recent i've noticed an excessive use of brackets. got a headline in a magazine that doesn't look right? add a bracket? logo a bit boring? add a bracket.
or anykind of catch-phrases used when trying to explain a piece of work. (ie. "this feels good" , "it's a bit horsey"or my personal favorite "make it look more urban"
help me out folks!!!

Heh, I find that design cliches are cliche as well, if you want to add that to your list ...

disclaimer: for those of you that are sick of reading about design cliches or the over-analyzation of design save yourself the energy and refrain from leaving some smart ass comment like the chap above(flavorful). i'm not trying to stir up controversy or start some kind of holier-than-thou pissing contest. i'm myself am guilty of using alot of played out design techniques. i just want to compile a list for shits and giggles. so if you want to contribute something constructive, by all means do so. your help is greatly appreciated. otherwise just save your energy and move on to the next thread.
