Yeah, i'm using panther too, with three other tabs open, but it's the same when it's only one tab as well. raR! my cpu's getting hosed!! is there an email for sending bugs reports to?

It's not a Mac problem, it's a Safari problem.
I know the Mac crowd seems to love Safari, but it's a pretty awful browser right now compared to Mozilla/Firefox or even IE. We worked really hard to make this site render properly in Safari, but I'd still recommend a Mozilla based browser (Firefox specifically) over Safari for your default browser.

I think there's a misunderstanding about how reasonable operating systems use your CPU. If you're not doing anything else but looking at NT, then your system is *supposed* to use all the CPU when you load any page. This site has a fairly intricate layout and thus may tax your processors for longer than, say, Yahoo would. Basically, you want your operating system to give as much CPU as it can to different processes. A problem would be if a site was pegging your CPU and disallowing the cycles to go to other running applications.
