The images alone with no text are so powerful... makes you wonder if typography is so beautiful anyway?

question mark

Untitled.
James: Would you say that of a picture of a forest [for example]? Is it not the fact you see both in context that the imagery is so powerful?
Typography wether you like it or not is a necessary part of our daily lives.

Yes.

Typography is not the same as landscapes cluttered with typography. And actually the (cluttered) typography without the landscapes looks quite nice aswell. So the question really is whether those two really go together that well.
However, an interesting project.

Pretty cool, don't know if I like the photos w/out text better, or the text on white.
- Neuarmy0
Very cool.

And all photos look to be here in Chicago :)

isn't the beauty of the project the idea, and not the fact that there are photos without type and type without photos?
the photos would be fairly average if the type would still be there - the typography would be very average if the photos would still be there.

feeling: like the idea works well
thinking: wish i thought of it

Enter response: I was thinking of a entire film that would have backgrounds without typography... would you concentrate on the characters (actors) more... or feel it weird that there was no typography there?
As for a forest... I'm more interested that it is places that become something more, with something taken away.

I would love to brand an entire city, everything in that city looks/follows a certain format: 1 Typeface, no photography, pure typographic information.
The images sans-type do have a certain calmness that appeals to me.

Cool untitled project!

absolutely. the images look so tranquil, almost surreal.
there is something so powerful about an image with no type, and type with no image.
maybe we do give the 2 put together too much credit?

kewl!
here's my (lazy sunday)intellectual contribution on this subject:
"That must have taken an awful lot of photoshopping!"
