I agree with a few statements earlier, work on typography and color. Also that some people are being a bit too tough on you.

cleaning up the typography would help immensely. Also, why not be a bit more cohesive with your elements? I thought it seemed quite jumbled going from idea to idea/image to image. It came off as a reel that shows off what you can do, for the sake of doing something instead of having a purpose in doing it.

You're in the right place and you're asking the right questions. That is a great start. At the risk of being rude - I'd spend less time on sending out reels and more on honing my skills. Most glaring to me is the typography and neon colored transitions and effects. Sending out 100 reels with no hits is not a good sign but we all started out somewhere on the creative ladder. Keep it up and work it out. Best of luck!

maybe he just doesn't understand the best way to show his skills. Not trying to pick a fight or anything, just thinking about resumes and school projects i had the same issues with before things just "clicked."

no he did NOT know his reel was poo, that's why he's confused. he couldn't buy a frigging clue why he wasn't getting hired. You're telling me if an interviewer was to tell him it sucks, he wouldn't stop and fix it. no it took 100 whankers and NT to just turn away and say good luck...
if it sucks, you tell him it sucks and why it sucks, if he comes back and it still sucks, you tell him you're getting close, but it still sucks, don't insult him by telling him a disney version of an opinion

i personally didnt candy coat my comments, some of the animations esp. at the beginnig was well done, the colr and fonts suck and need work. no need to carry on and be a dick to someone about their reel. it needs work and if hes reading this now he knows it. if he still doesnt get it then c'est la vie.
