Aliyah, thanks. About the designer-briefing issue: I know I cannot be an art-director to creatives, or else I would not treat them as like the unique creatives i choose them for in the first place. But I think there should be a short brainstorm session with moodboards for instance, just to get the right idea; to pass on the feeling I had when talking with the client.. can be hard to translate into words sometimes.
I have also been toying with the idea of setting up samples of work of freelancers who want to be on the list.. maybe a special section on the site where clients can get an idea of their particular style of creative specialties.

suhweet!
i have been thinking about you to be added for illustration, cuz to be honest, you are one of the better ones I got to know in my life!
i'll email ya soon.

yep. i've got some.
first. i've got a good impression that you can pull it off. that bit about charging the client twice then intended but well argumented is very good. and you're right. maybe it's even better if the creative management is creative as well. or knows what it's like. that has a high value. next to knowing what it's about you seem to be able to translate it to business men on a business level. something that a lot of creatives lack. and you know what it takes. time, effort, quality etc. that's good.
allright. links:
did you check that bigactive.com link? cm as well (http://www.bigactive.com).
http://www.mach1.nl
(i actually made this one and i'm in there somewhere but still with dummy txt and stuff)another one, i don't like, good to know what's bad and foremost, why, for learning purposes:
http://www.hunkydory.nl/and another amsterdam based one:
http://www.roughmen.nland isn't bsur semi cm as well? not sure. maybe rumours. but that's what i understood:
http://www.bsur.comand check this list at bno's site:
http://www.bno.nl/nl/adres/1885.…oi. and thanks for crediting that unit link like lots-a-times... it's not that bigadeal ;) cheers though.

cheers, rabattski.
i'd love to see some. As I am expecting quite a few good illustrators and probably photographers as well I will need to dig somewhat deeper in the world of editorial design.
I see you did quite some work for Quote, Jort better pay up for that work! ;P
btw. here's a peek at my logo, the logotype (yellow/orange) I created myself in hindsight it looks a bit influenced by Wim Crouwel, need to check if it's not a rip!! :)
here it is:

well done janne - it's a big step but it sounds like you are definately making a rock solid descision based on firm working practice - good luck to you!
- rabattski&rabattski0
yep ;) i've done and still do quite some stuff for quote. good client to have. i've met jort briefly. it's weird to meet someone irl when you know him only from tv, magazines etc. awkward. nice guy though. like what he does for promoting vegetarianism. gotta run. i'll mail some portfolio highlights so you don't need to go thru 'em all. nice logo btw.

i am looking for photographers and a few more specialists in the field of film and motion graphics.
i am consciously trying to work with a vast array of disciplines, todays publishing world often demand a mixture of different specialists. I am also aware of the worries some might have if I can translate the technical aspects of their work to potential clients. I grew up amidst photographers, designers, directors, etc. and always had my eyes open in the different fields, like photography, graphic design, motion graphic design, architecture, product design and try to read as much as possible on the different subjects as much as i can on a daily basis. A tight communication network with both clients and freelancers, such as internet, mobile etc., helps me reflect information in no-time. I felt that in the past this helped me a great deal in difficult situations.
Any photographers, motion-graphic designers, directors reading this and want to be part of the DutchBoy network, shoot me a mail: flirt@dutchboy.info.
Everything will be informal so don't worry I put you up right away or that you'll be put in unwanted situations.
The process of building up a strong network of freelancers might take a while, so does setting up the strategy for DutchBoy.
Before the site, and thus the company goes live, every freelancer on the network is allowed to take a peek and comment whatever they feel is worth.
My mailbox is open!
And thanks again for all your encouraging and highly enthousiastic reactions, it means a lot for me.

any need for intermediate level designer / programmers?
- arthur0
I'm interested, if you're looking for another illustrator.
Where are you 4cY? The reason I ask is because I already have a couple reps: unit (Amsterdam and NYC) and another on the US west coast and they are very protective of their geographic areas.
I've been thinking of doing a similar thing, though on a smaller scale. I often have more work than I can handle and occassionally need quality people I can hand things off to that will keep my reputation tight. Haven't implemented anything yet.
What do you think?

idsgn, send a CV and a few samples of your best work, if you don't have a CV (yet) send at least info about your specialisation and a few samples of your work, and where you are located.
tia.
