if you think nader will ACTUALLY bcome president, is one thing. If you are just wasting a vote is another. it aint gonna happen and you know it. symbolic votes down mean shit.

watch, he's gonna drop out or not get enough support and just wind up on a few of the states' ballots. he won't be a factor at all like the last time.

he must be an egomaniac, why else would he run? If I know he cant win, he MUST know he cant win.

"seriously ... all things happen for a reason "
This is true but not in the way you think. All things happen for a reason becuase we let it be that way. Destiny is a superstitious myth. You and only you have control over how you react to what is infront of you. We need to take responsibility and not blame external factors for things that afflict us.

"if you think nader will ACTUALLY bcome president, is one thing."
i don't think anyone here thinks that. nader will flop, no doubt about it.
but the hope is that if he takes enough % of the popular "simbolic" vote, the gov't subsidizes his party in the next election. i'm not sure how this works since he's running independent, but right now there are only going to be two candidates at any gov't sponsered presidential debate. again, i'm not sure about the exact details.
it's not going to happen, but it's lame to just laugh and ignore the possibility. people don't know who exaclty is. if people take notice this time, maybe his endorsement for a cadidate of a future election will have an impact. it's just all about introducing alternatives. and i think he's a respectabl alternative.
i encourage you not to dimiss it as a fluke.

And a different perspective instead of the emotional anti-bush fervor that seems to resonate in the forum so strongly.
"the Bush Administration has consistently misled the American public about Iraq"
I asssume you think that Bush has always known all of the facts, as is he is some all knowing being who can make all the right decisions. It was a judgement call. Either way, Saddam is out of power, which is most likely a good thing. No?
"Bush's Tax Cuts only benefit the rich"
I remember getting a pretty sizeable check last year. Around $500 or so. While not a lot of money, it benefited me. The quote above is a lie. Do the rich benefit more? Yes. Is that a bad thing? I don't know. Do you know?
"3.3 million jobs (93,000 in August of 2003 alone) have been lost since Bush took office,"
This is the natural course of a recession. Trimming the fat. And it is all Bush's fault? Remember 9/11? Recovery takes time. Recovery is happening.

http://college.hmco.com/history/… interesting to see a third party had made some influence in US politics
- heavyt0
no doubt. Rooselvelt ran as a 3rd party, and Perot stood a good chance in the past.
Nader is no different than Jesse JAckson was in the 80s. The fact of the matter is that more people are likely to leave the democratci vote to join Nader than republicans. It is just a matter of values.
When these kids ask me to sign a petition to get Nader on the ballot here, i say,"No thanks".
Perhaps he is getting younger people to vote though, that otherwise wouldnt.
That is a win-win.

It is the principle that counts, so if you favor the views of Nader please vote for him !
Now, if you would like to stop war, make the US be respected again around the world and care about basic human rights, I suggest you vote for Kerry.

I'm all for principles but be realistic here, too many people have died for you to vote for nader...
