I think the concept itself is ok.
What will change at general internet design and interaction you all think?

I don't really care if everything gets integrated or not. I don't care my fridge doesn't order me milk from tesco's over the internet without me knowing.

Hey Blofeldt, relax man... just conceptualize... the milk-thing is a bit out of hand maybe, but see the beatyfull options for less valid people and even elder people, but only when the control of the device would be simple. Maybe you just dont give a rats ass for yourself, but think of the advantages!
Then, you are a designer, or at least design-related proffesional so you should care where technology is going man, its your living?

similar to now, but with motion replacing still images, projected on a resizable screen that appears in midair; all tv/movie/music/game content downloadable for a fee through the giant comcast/pixar/microsoft entertainment/industrial complex.

well thats what i was thinking of... you all think such a thing will be realised? Big co's working together like Sony, Bertelsmann and AOL for example setting up this Data-Bunker full of entertaiment, music, porn and games?

When do you all think google will evole to something like josh davis has recentley designed for Wire?
- ilovemywork0
Will it be directly after Google.com goes to the public stockmarket or will it be for this like a while, say a year or 2/3?

Google is an information vortex, it's up to us to make the tools.
- ilovemywork0
Maybe so... you do have a point there i guess. For example getting data like text and images from google's database to load in a specific site? extracting dynamic date? what did you exactly mean?

a few people have made really good points about overdoing interactivity. one of the most successful areas growing in interactive tv is actually digital radio. its great when you dont have to look at something in order to use it.

you know, i have an ancient ThinkPad , that's like 120Mhz. So I put linux on it and use it in console only, and you know what, I managed to accomplish alot with it. I have a console AIM client, a console mail client and a console browser. I even manage to look at newstoday in textmode. And somehow it feels alot better to look at plaintext, without all the hoopla.

vesp- always wondered why they don't display the radio station logo on the telly.. any reason?

i dont know much about that side yet to be honest, think i'm working on something in the area soon so will know more.
but do you know they can broadcast pictures through digital radio signals now? i saw a game this week that was done that way... sounds almost pointless but its still kinda cool i reckon.
