I've seen Robert Plant twice, recently, and once in the late 80's in England, he looked worse in the 80's show, but he paused a few times in the last show, also skipped a few lyrics but did a TON more zeppelin songs....
I've heard Zeppelin shows in the 70's were really variable, sometimes great, sometimes not so great... drugs and car crashes and Plant's son dying in 77 were factors.... also their manager was supposed to be a bullying asshole...

Zeppelin and Bob Marley are two shows I wish I had attended in my lifetime.
My best claim to fame is: Metallica - Guns n' Roses - Body Count

I saw Led Zeppelin at the O2 centre when they reformed a few years ago for the Ahmet Ertegun tribute.
This is some of my footage:I'd had a pretty serious back operation about a week before. I shouldn't have been out of bed let alone at a concert but I'd been lucky enough to get the tickets so I just took a crapload of really strong painkillers and went. It was amazing. They played so well, speaking as a guitarist and zep fan, Jimmy Page has still got it.
The concert just came out on DVD:

I saw the Page & Plant thing in 1994. I liked it so much I went again the next night. It's not the same as Zep, but as close as I will get.

Didn't see them live (I did see the Who however) I watched the video of their shows from the 70s. Didn't seem that great to me. I think they were more of a studio band, as great as they were.
- Huh? They were an amazing live band. Maybe you watched some cover band?CygnusZero4
- it was them allrighttwokids

I cant imagine theres too many people on QBN old enough to have seen them live. The real band, not any of the fake incarnations after Gonzo died.

I dont even like them that much. I actually think Rush was a better band in every possible way, and still around, since they are often compared to Zep, and even I know Zep was a great live band. Great musicians and great performers. Rush is still better though. :)

I saw John Bonhams sons band "Bonham" open up for the Cult in 1989.
I got free tickets to see the Page/Plant No Quarter Tour in '95. I really didn't want to go but it ended up being incredible.
Then I saw Them Crooked Bastards featuring John Paul Jones a few years ago.
Thats about as close to seeing all of Led Zeppelin as you can get.

I saw Robert Plant in 1983 or 1984. Jimmy Page came up for an encore and they did some Honeydrippers when that was new. This was another lifetime ago. I don't really love Plant's solo stuff from the 80s.

I had tickets for a montreal show. alas, the drummer died - it was the next stop on their tour
missed it by 'that much'
