Why does it not support the 'disabled' attribute in a [option]-tag in XHTML?
anymore things Safari still cannot do?
grhmpf..

do you have the latest version? 1.2? they just made it available like last week. I'm not sure if that was one of the changes, but it's probably worth checking out.

Is it a web standard tag?

in xhtml, the tag attribute must be correct syntax:
[option disabled="disabled"][/option]
to my knowledge, disable isn't deprecated...but, i haven't looked in a while.
it may not be available in xhtml 1.x.

sparker!
that's what i figured, but my O'Reilly HTML/XHTML def. guide says that is the case for the 'selected' attribute, in HTML it has no value, whilst in XHTML it's selected="selected"..
but it doesn't state such rule for the 'disabled 'attribute.
but i can try.. thx!

no problem, 4cY.
i did find this in the xhtml spec:
"C.10. Boolean Attributes
Some HTML user agents are unable to interpret boolean attributes when these appear in their full (non-minimized) form, as required by XML 1.0. Note this problem doesn't affect user agents compliant with HTML 4. The following attributes are involved: compact, nowrap, ismap, declare, noshade, checked, disabled, readonly, multiple, selected, noresize, defer."
it very well could be a bug in the khtml engine. have you checked their bug tracker? it might be worth a look.
i checked the xhtml 1.0 spec, disabled IS IN there. even in strict.
so, it should work. at this point, it looks like a browser issue.
the khtml engine wasn't the best to start with. konqueror had its share of bugs and problems...especially in the standards arena.
anyway...
