Maya 5 book

  i'm trying to learn Maya 5 (thought it might be a laugh). Can anybody recomend a good book for starting out? Are the offical Alias books the best or should i look elsewhere?

  I can't really tell you if the alias books are the best... as they are the only ones I have really used. But I do recomend them... great way of learning the program.

  thanks for the tips chaps. I was looking at getting that book. Now im looking for a good source of models online i can play with in Maya, they all seem to be for 3DS, can they be imported? i can't get it to work.
