I can't believe they're using the old Bobby fuller four song for this...
The thing is though, these tactics work. We've seen it before - those other RIAA threats were successful, at least in Europe. This is just taking it to another, more personal level.

yes 4cY that was my point when i replied to you
"the_man, i have never once asked any of the things you claimed.
i advise you to back up your accusations with some serious evidence. ""everyone, and i repeat, everyone on this board has been guilty of copyright violations at least once in their lives..".
The point of your first post was that they deserve what they got there criminals.

rasko: see what you mean about the accent. weird.
must agree i don't like the campaign too... its a great giveaway (for those in the states anyway), but the wrong way to go about giving it away... if you get me. it's late.

the influence of American media is big but that does not say their are the only ones, if i offended someone i apologize, but to my knowledge spreading fear and anxiety is common in American campaigns..
i'd like to hear people coming with fresh constructive ideas instead of only pointing out evil, and ventilating accusations.

Why don't we advice Metallica to start hatin on their fans again? haha that was a true success. How much did their sales drop again?

haha, now i see.
you completely misunderstood or forgot to scroll.
it was irony, or perhaps rather cynicism.
that is why i put [/cynicism] at the bottom of the message.

I don't know if it's necessarily harsh. Let's be honest, as great as the innovation of the ITMS is, it does support the RIAA. And as we all know the RIAA is just a collection of greedy, self-righteous jerks. They wanted to ban cassette tapes when they first came out too. I also like the part about teeth rotting pepsi :-)

only trust the computer in your head, everything stored on the other one was never yours.

What the hell are you guys talking about? It makes the RIAA and their convictions seem ridicious if anything. Showing images of the actual "no-criminal-like" kids with the "ACCUSED" and all that type makes it look like "think about THESE kids were arrested..stupid right audience?". And at the same time it shows that it could happen to ANYONE and there is an alternative.
Like someone else here said- these kids are going to now be the coolest kids in school... no big freakin deal... nothing like stealing a few Timberlake tunes to help get your face on TV in front a 50 Million people...

funny how they to promote legal music downloading and then themself borrow heavily from Wes Anderson movies for the look of the commercial.
I also think that it's a bit immoral to sell pepsi -"it's the cola"- to kids this way.
They should have put those songs in Pepsi Light / Max instead.
