it's fine to use any general MIDI keyboard, your just using it to trigger your software. That's what MIDI is all about triggering. I am sure you will get good use out of it if you configure it correctly with your soft synths and such. :)

thanks jazx, also is there any software for Mac and Windows for MIDI? I'll use garage band if I have to. But what about my PC?
Thanks in advance.

On a similar topic:
I have a digi001 and the hardware for my computer. It was purchased for a mac but will the card work with a PC?

Mimio, I also prefer Roland PC-300 series

it's a good KB for the buck. midi implementation can be used for a number of programs, not limited to audio stuff.
There's a bunch of decent audio apps for windows platform. but if you're hardcore - then you should get a mac - i list the stuff i use on my website
- Mimio0
Does anyone use this with Reason or other synth programs?
- jpea0
yeah, the digi001 should work with a PC just fine. Same voltage PCI card is used so, yeah, no problems there.
check out http://www.digidesign.com/compat… for known incompatible systems and such (there's a ton)

Mimio - i wouldn't recommend that - try this

or

if you want something cheaper
- lucidblack0
one of these is really cool, too - and expandable

That evolution bundle looks good. Reason 2.5 and the EVO UC-33e for $430.
