p.s. dont spend all your money on your apartment. you wont have anything left for everything else. orange county living isnt cheap and.. in that area is sometimes more expensive than living well in LA.

I lived in Newport for a short spell, I know the area well. It can be pricy. I had an apartment near the public golf course off Adams. It was nice.

I used to live in several different apartments in a complex right next to Hoag Hospital. Hiliara Way. Pretty nice places. 5 years ago I was paying $900 a month for a 3 bedroom town house. 5 minute walk to the beach.
Head on down to the beach area and look for a place called cafe alta. Great place for breakfast! Killer Omelets. Be sure to go to Wahoos for fish tacos!

I had look at the corondo apartments when I was looking - from memory they are VERY small and over-priced. You can find better/cheaper.
