Fucking superb!!
"Collecting his award, Gervais introduced himself to the American public, joking: 'I'm not from these parts... I'm from a little place called England. We used to run the world before you.'"

I'm really, really surprised that you guys actually find it funny!
thats not a slur - it's jsut a very english thing that I never thought would transfer well to the states - guess I was wrong!

Gervais is the best smart-ass of all-time!

no way jevad. most of my friends are Uk-expats in Africa, plus the show is just downright funny man. :)

That man is a genius.
Definitely one of the best brit tv comedies ever made.

maybe this will make him come back for another season, didn't he say that he was leaving. ?
- jevad0
do you have season 2 in the US yet? That's it after that - for definate. he has already been offered millions of pounds but doesn;t want to write another series...hence why the US has bought the rights and are going to do a US version...which is destined for faliure!
- ********0
for sure destined for failure as well as the US version of 'Coupling'. It's HORRIBLE@! ahahahhaaa ;)

ever seen Gervais being interviewed? He comes across as a complete wanker in real life too. Damn funny program all the same.

yeah seen it on the news this morning and I fell out of bed laughing when I heard his speech!!
- godot0
i like it because i *am* british, nick :)
he's really funny in interviews, seems like an alright guy to me!did anyone see him on british comedy awards?
"The reason I'm presenting this award instead of being up for one is that I haven't had anything new out this year. Otherwise I definitely would have won. I didn't want you to think my popularity was waning... The thing is, you would have thought they would have found me something to win - not for me, but just for the credibility of the awards."
Classic :)

I saw the DVD of the first season, really great stuff we have nothing that cool in the states everything here is so lame. So many of the same shows nothing that really breaks away with a raw fresh feel like "The Office". If they re-make it over here it will be lame like everything they re-make.

I think wendell, germany is the last place where the office would be successfull (do they have it over there yet?), but it seems to be our boring nationality or something (I know its stereotypes but maybe there is something to it) ... I didn't think it was so funny either - and I've been in this country (UK) for almost 5 years now.

I guess Germany's just too efficient to allow people like David Brent to exist.
I love The Office, but find it very hard to watch. It's all so cringeworthy!
- jevad0
even more so when you've actualyl had a boss like david brent! well - near enough anyway - same shit jokes and 'I want to be your best mate' attitude...nuts....
