dont like the red/pink menu at all in 2 too something - tone it down or clean it up and you got a winner. like the b+w images in 1 much better (I'd pick the money shot and make it static or make an more interesting slide slhow then fades)

I like the clean look of number 1 and the layout of number 2.

i'd definitely lose the corner marks in 2.
unless they tie to the concept in some way. seeing that you have them on your personal site as well says you don't have a reason.
i like the simplicity of the first one - and i don't mind the fade in. has a nice flow. snapping could go.
the first one looks more romantic.
maybe mix the color up - just a little bit - not so purpley. maybe an ORANGE! or something. more silver?
also, font? not very vernacular here. why did you chose that one?
