Where would you rather live? If anyone has lived in both places, tell me your story please.

both cities stink.

If I were gay, I'd say SF.
If I were a rich young socialite, I'd say NY.
But since I’m a straight, average income, Mexican and Native American, I'd say AZ.

That wasn't the question.

NYC! SF is too tame

Let me append this question...
If you weren't a narrow-minded douchebag, where would you rather live, NY or SF?
- shant0
Ive visited NY and lived in SF.
SF is like NY on a way smaller scale.
SF has shit weather for 10 months of the year though, but it was an awesome place to live.
I'd probably take SF over NY because I don't like the cold and it's closer to LA.

No question ...NY.

new york, no doubt.

NYC it's heaven on earth

SF... although i haven't lived in NYC, my brother's there and i have spent time there.
SF because of proximity to cool things. The city has it's own flavor, but the proximity to amazing stuff around it is the true draw. i live in the Peninsula now, but close to Santa Cruz, Big Sur, SF, Yosemite, Tahoe. i can play on the beach one day, eat great food in the city that night, and go skiing that weekend at some beautiful places. all within a few hour drive.

SF is dead.
In the best way.
NYC is the mother empire.

Can someone lead a relaxed life in NY? What's the best neighborhood there (without spending 3k per month in rent)?
- JamesEngage0
which is the cleanest?
- xrusos0
SF wins the clean test. Winds almost always head west, and blow any Oakland industry further west.
but really, they are two very different cities. hard to compare.

visited NYC last year, I hate it there
too crowded...weather sux..(^_^)

SF
just because of New Yoke accents, though.

It's more of a personal thing, I would guess. I'm drawn to SF only because I think it suits me more and I think its a really beautiful city. I also really dig the vibe there more, i don't really know how else to explain it. What's important to you in a city? What are you looking for?

Buddylee kicks ass.
- Gorbie0
I would also move to New York to be able to fly to Europe cheaper.

ecnalab, I'm drawn to short commutes without using a car, cafes where you can pop open a laptop without people looking at you funny, neighborhood bars, and lazy weekends spent wandering around.
