Yeah it's exploitive.

pr2 just admit that if a movie isn't on the AFI top 100 you won't like it.

pr2 - you really think it stank?
just curious of the reasoning :-)

(making a movie is super hard so anyone making one and finishing it -- well then you are a great director no matter how bad the movie is.)
i needed to say above that despite my dislike for KB i still highly value Tarantino.
pretty much every single movie has a hero going on a quest of some kind. All you have to do is figure out who the hero is and the quest is and figure out what happens on his/her way to the goal and you have the movie. Well there is another thing -- you have to conceal that formula. Now even when you make a film playing on that formula you better make it exciting or it will end up as a project that sounds cool but is as boring at TV noise.
(women that kick ass are so hot though!)

I thought KillBill was easily the worst movie I've seen in years... Return of the King is a close second though. I'm pretty easily pleased, so they must of been utter shit.

I watched Kill Bill here in Tokyo and personally though it was shite. Complete waste of time, I wont bother with the next one.
Many people walked out of the cinema I was in and I didn't blame them for doing so.The best thing about Tarantino was when he came here and gave the press conference for Kill Bill he wore a "Lost in Translation" T-Shirt the whole time.
Funny.

fireworks is easily better than any tarentino movie. I think Takeshi strives to be good, where as tarentino strives to be cool.

so what's so bad about kill bill? you all dislike it because he showed stereotypes?
i had fun watching it and think anyone should at least rent it.
and if you really want to see a movie that opens your heart, then watch

hehe. the acting + doyle couldve saved hero. but they didn't.
- pascii0
hero was a nice story. but so cheesy - crouching tiger hidden dragon was more 'real'

Anyone who thinks Kill Bill is Good Cinema needs to get their head examined.
It's PULP.
It's overblown ridiculous hyper-violent, hyper-crude fluff.
That's it. Popcorn flick.Come on, kids.
Plus, filmmakers are arrogant.
It's fine.
He can say whatever he wants.
- pascii0
pulp, why not? if you don't overrate it as the 'new shit' it is a good movie.

sometimes movies get over analysed, just enjoy them for what they are, a few hours entertainent.
- pascii0
true sexypixel.
- pr20
i don't think anyone is really analizing this movie that much it's just if there is no entertainment then one has to find something to hang onto.
Dude KB was not entertaining.

(jan 21 04)ya, i guess thats not analising, but others were saying it was exploitive etc. hollywood.... exploitive...never.

My tiny analyse
KB is an american "wanna-score/they expect it of me/i may do that-superficial-must shock-must entertain" movie. I must say Tarantino knows to take every or many nice shoots, visuals from asian movies, get in into a blender and create KB.Furthermore, i was thinking KB2 can't be in the same style, well i hope it won't be. It will be suprising if Tarantino comes up with a different style.
