chicago is very difficult to persuade . this city is built on meat packing plants and they need utilitarian design..so thats the point of advantage, if youre up to it. screw new york :D

Actually chicago comes across as very mainstream to the point of being boring. Perhaps it's the company I work for but the clients we have (all based in chicago or surrounding area, especially Michigan) are cheap bar stewards and run by way too many middle managers.
Hence, me and the missus are going (back) to London.

It's forkin cold here right now, no one in their right mind should move here unless it's from some place colder.
I've been freelancing for sometime now and it pays the bills, but the work is mindnumbing.

thank you thank you. everyone. i'm not in chicago--i'm actually in columbus (oh) currently. i've been searching in nyc and in chicago--i'll go wherever i can find the best job as i like both places. the cold is kind of killer in chicago though and i appreciate your comments on the design community there. i don't have an online portfolio--i'm working on that one and hope to have it done SOON.
keep those fingers crossed--i had a great interview for a pharmaceutical ad agency in nyc so i'm hoping subsequent interviews will go as well.
