Actually chicago comes across as very mainstream to the point of being boring. Perhaps it's the company I work for but the clients we have (all based in chicago or surrounding area, especially Michigan) are cheap bar stewards and run by way too many middle managers.
Hence, me and the missus are going (back) to London.
