shellie..getting a degree, or finishing one off is always a good idea..
but if you feel that you're living paycheck to paycheck, there are other alternatives..
1) try a lateral move to a different studio that either pays more or allows you to move up..
2) try getting into a different organization alltogether..i went from a small advertising agency to a large consulting firm...it paid more, had more to offer, and was a great move...
3) try picking up some freelance work for after hours...you get the stability of your normal paycheck, and the afterhours freelance can and will make a significant boost to your bank statement..
you're in LA, if i remember correctly..their must be tons of opportunity for freelance work for design..
not all of it web mind you, but i'll bet there's boatloads of other design work to do...
