to law school. i need a few classes to finish a bachelors in buisness. then maybe i should actually do it.
i dont think i'd actually use that education to be a practicing lawyer.. but rather to get some nice corporate job somewhere as a director of some department where i dont really do anything and i get 3-4 weeks vacation a year and some decent benifits.
do you think it's possible to get that kind of job without that kind of education (without clawing your way uo for 10-20 years). im so sick of being a kickball. sometimes i really wish i didnt drop out of school. but other times.. im glad i didnt waste my money on a degree in the arts. thats probably what i would have done and it probably wouldn't have helped.
does anyone ever feel the same way? what have you done to make your life better without working yourself to the edge.

when you're making $150 a year, you'll remember why you got into this biz to begin with.

My girlfriend did an internship with the office of the federal defender.
They used Arial on all of their documents.

Despite the fact that it'll be great for your current career at some point, you'll always have the oppurtinity to switch to a completely different job if you ever get sick of what you're doing now for some reason. I say go for it.
I studied quite a lot of law (basically quit right before the others graduated) and it's been great knowing stuff like that when I started my own. Either way, it's great. Unless it's stealing attention from your current job, there's nothing negative about it at all.

shellie girl..
ya have to do what makes you happy..
but i suspect you wouldn't much care for the upper management thing you're talking about..it actually is a lot of work..you're much more accountable..
and trust me..
3 weeks of vacation counts for nothing if the rest if the year is spent in cubicle hell..
it may look all nice from the outside, seeing these suits walk in and out of big buildings like they're all important, and have nice briefcases and shit..
but trust me..
inside a few months you'll be fondly remembering the days you were working on artwork and design and having fun..

the company i work for has become in a lot of ways what shellie is talking about..and most of my working day is spent with middle to upper management..
and good lord it aint fun..
we're in a big fancy ass building smack dab downtown toronto, and everyone is all dressed up ...
it kind of sucks

Exador,
Just look at your reflection off the other guys bald heads and say...

i dont want to be poor anymore though. im really poor and i cant save any money. i live paycheck to paycheck. i cant imagine doing that for the rest of my life. how will i ever have a family?

I get the feeling happiness tends to reflect inner resources as much as outer circumstances (except in truly dire illness or poverty). In other words, I tend to whine like a baby whther things seem like they're going really well or not.

It costs approx 1.5 million to bring a child up to college age!!
Yikes

the reality is, and the reality that most americans should be considering is that you may not have a family, unless the ability to adopt children becomes humane, affordable and viable for every us citizen
