For all the Australians and cricket lovers out there, we mourn the tragic loss of David Hookes - a true legend.

David Hookes was an absolute gentleman and for his life to be taken so tragically by a piece of crap like this...I am just speechless.
And for the guy to be walking the streets on bail,,,what a disgrace.
If you punch someone in the head...and they die, then you should be charged with Murder. People need to take more responsibility for their actions and the world would be a better place.
The rights should lay in the hands of the victims, not the perpetrators.
RIP Hookesy, You will be missed.

But i'm sure he would not have been let out on bail if they thought it was murder. The charge sounds like it will be manslaughter.
Boxing is probably the only form of defense where they are not trained in defusing situations, every other form of self defense this is drilled into you.

I have read reports where they say the guy cannot be charged with manslaughter because in the normal course of events, a punch will not lead to death.
The fact that the punch caused him to fall to the ground and knock his head on the pavement, leading to his death, should be another to send this guy away for years.
My suspicion is he will receive some light sentence and be back on the job in no time.

almost all bouncers a fucking pigs and i'm not racist, but so many of them seem to be croatian/bosnian. It's the same here in Perth, they treat you like absolute shit and love a fight.
Apparently the 3 bouncers followed hookes, lehman n one other dude 70m down the st after closing time and that's when it happened. After the arshole knocked hooksey out, one of his mates tapped him on the bum, as if to say well done mate.

Most bouncers in Sydney are Islanders, and you know not to fuck with them. Most are cool enough and give you fair warning before they deck you, and if you get decked, 9times out of 10 you asked for it. but the who Hookes case is disgusting and they should pay and the security company they work for should be made pay also, its their job not to hire unhinged lunatics

Apparently the cockhead that hit Hookesy was already facing charges for a similar assault a couple of months ago.
Lock him up and throw away the key for this piece of shit. He doesn't deserve to breath!
