just moving more units, which is good for business. they produced a great product (with little competition) and are trying to benefit from this position, before something better comes along and takes some of the pie.

This Mac Brand snobbery is getting tired. I'm willing to bet in few years time apple will only be selling software and accessories - because really - other than that - they simply have nothing to offer.

the mac has been dying in the PC users eyes since 1988 and with every new year they get more and more users- the loyal stay- and the introduce all the products and technology for the PC companies to copy and make the future of computing... Apple is going no where... they are in the strongest position they have ever been in since their introduction... they have a very inventive OS- they ipod and itunes- a new machine- intergrated software-

I used to buy macs. But every product they make is simply over-priced. And I never thought I would say it - but my pc has been far more reliable, and a hell of a lot more serviceable.
As for Apple Customer Service too - it ain't doin them no favors. I've been trying to get a salesman to ring me about one of their X-Web Servers things - and no cunt will phone me back.
Do they actually want my money? It's all very well having a nice product, but the product is only part of the brand, and they do not sell the other half very well at all....
I've seen no logical reason to go back... and it's a shame. I hate giving Bill my money.

dude- then just don't buy them- plain and simple... they are soooo overpriced yet you want an x-server?I personally use macs because- they work for me... they make more sense to me... I cant stand the headaches of Windows- I do IT support for the Univeristy of Pennsylvania and freelance design...
everyday I am fixing, updating, scanning for viruses- reporting crashes, calling Dell, calling IBM, re-installing the OS, wondering, "why doesn't it recongize the DVD drive now", "How come the USB port stopped working", "Why didn't the machine shut down last night", "How come it keeps dropping the profile", .... etc.
and UPDATES UPDATES UPDATES.... our macs- 2 reported crashes since Jaguar out of 45 machines...plus these machines are 6 years old and still run smooth and the latest OS... our PC's are about 3 years old and cough under XP... PC's are cheaper no doubt- but Dell is getting another $35,000.00 order from us because the machines cant keep up... our macs are bought and paid for and are still kicking... hell some professors are using the original imacs with Panther on them.If using Windows was my only option in this world- I rather be a burger flipper than a designer.
