i'm going to be honest here, and i will probably be shot, but there isnt much of a scene in perth. It is the most isolated city on the planet and is serviced by Sydney and Melbourne. If you want to come to Australia and you want to work for a top design firm, come to sydney, melbourne or brisbane.
Perth is a beutiful laidback city and has so much to offer, there are a few design studios there but nothing that jumps to mind, but i could be wrong, and i'm sorry if i am.www.australianinfront.com.au has an amazing directory of everything design related here.

never been to tassie but a friend went there and got so freaked out by the locals that he locked himself into his room, put a chair against the door and weapt for a few hours.

Of course I do...and I think about it every day that I am in london..especially at this time of year.
Mind, what I don't miss is the small minded, parochial fuckwits that Perth seems to breed in droves.
