Yeah, lots of threads about this - but none had info I was looking for.
I'm specifically looking for experiences with DreamHost and MediaTemple.
and if you're going to bitch about something, at least explain the whole situation and how it was resolved.
Thanks.

i just signed up with MT last night. Noticed that i fucked up some info after i already submitted it, so i called em up and they fixed it for me in a second, and they even knew my name cause they just looked at the last person that placed an order. All my shit was up and running in less than a day, including the domain name which they registered for me. All in all, a pleasant experience. Oh, and I get to put that trendy MT logo on my site :P

I bounced around quite a bit before I ended up with Dreamhost. I'm pretty pleased with them, and their prices.
Steer clear of jtlnet.com. They change OS's, DBs, and upgrade hardware w/o forewarning.

i was with MT for a couple years but realized I could find more features for a lot less money elsewhere.

hmmm. I switched to (mt)...
no prob's...great customer service as previously stated...
Seems very personal. I even signed up like a week before the started a new offer/deal, so I asked if i was eligible...within 2mins, I was upgraded...Nice!

I have an account with both, and to be honest, Dreamhost wins in almost everything.. Their panel is faster, faster to connect to ftp. More storage, bandwidth etc.. Last night i needed help, all i had to do was log into a chat with support and they sorted me out instantly. Plus, not that i'm trying to get commision or anything, but it doesn't cost much cos referal fees top you up.
The only thing that dreamhost doesn't have which i've come across is GD library for php (which MT has) but I think overall Dreamhost is more reliable. I sometimes have trouble getting on the MT panel.
All good guys, but don't be fashionable with MT for the sake of it.
Dreamhost will make you happy i guarentee
