In your opinion what is the best PDA (in the 150 - 250 price range) with best value? This will be my first one and I cant make up my mind.

Your better off getting a Palm Zire 21. It's $99 and has all you need. Being this is your firs PDA you should just get a cheap one. Some people have a hard time consistently using one. The Zire 21 doesn't have color screen and doesn't have a back light but it does ever thing i need it to do.

i have a Sony CLIE PEG SL10, and it's pretty good. It should cost way less than $99 by now. It doesnt have a color screen either, but has 320x320 resolution. The only real problem is the really small space (7MB) and no sound.

If i were to connect a mini usb drive with mp3's to the PDA (assuming it reads mp3's) would i be able to listen to music from it?
- JamesEngage0
you'd need a walkman for that.
- mrdobolina0
nah, it has no audio out.

there's quite a few PDAs that play mp3s out of the box and have pelnty of space for them. Of course, they probably cost more than an iPod.

the dell's and viewsonic pda's have audio outputs and cost around 200 US, have windows pocket OS and also have the flash plugin, way better buy than a palm-based PDA. the only palm-based pda worth anything is a sony.

I have read that the tungsten E has good value. But its palm. Why is pocket pc better? And why do the sony's come with so little memory?
- mrdobolina0
I guess I like pocket pc's better just out of personal preference and the fact that they have the flash plugin, pocket MSword etc.
I have an older sony clie. I guess the reason why sony's have such little memory is because they are trying to sell you memory sticks. Im also tired of the palm OS.

PalmOS has some good games for it

yeah toastie, I have tiger woods golf, galaxian, sim city etc. they also have a gameboy emulator.

careful with the clie. I made the mistake of letting the battery run out on mine and it wiped the memory.

yeah gabriel, all you have to do is make sure you sync it now and again.
- JamesEngage0

I forgot to charge it for 2 days, never happened on my 2 other palm devices, only the clie.

I'm looking forward to my 7th Generation iPod PDA that will have full color video, Flash, answer my phone and have a drive that's 200 Gigabytes.
