Is this movie based on anything? I think it looks amazing.

"Conran filmed the entire project against bluescreen and wrote his own software to make the film. He says, "The whole movie is a special effect, even a scene with two people sitting in a room. Really, it's a live-action cartoon.""
Thats neat

It looks great and who doesn't love evil robots, but I have mixed feelings about them taking a cheap shot at our 9/11 feelings.

and there's a nice classic scifi british movie vaguely related to that...

I don't see the "cheap shot at our 9/11 feelings"?

A military adversary threatening and possibly destroying buildings and lives in Manhattan. It seems to be manipulating some fears that are still lingering around here.

does that mean the stay puffed marshmallow man is bin laden? a strange hollywood warning?

CyBrain, are you serious? A movie that's set to take place in the 30's and contains planes and new york is instantly a reminder of 9/11? I hardly think they would actually want to remind people of such a terrible event, especially for a movie like this.

sorry but it looks utter shit!!!

i love hollywood (really) but this is going to suck storywise.

Yeah, if this movie wasn't so hollywood-esque it might be cool.
(note: Hollywood-esque being all the one-liners and bland acting mixed with the "stunning" cinematography)

Could we be getting a British hero in the form of the Sky Captain?! Wow, that would be good! At last...
