and my 'word' was aimed at the Blofeldt post before the last one..
(you guys are too fast for me today!)
;)

word, blofeldt..
but well if it is 2A, you can't tell them.. they don't have ears for reason like this.
at least provide a more accesible (xhtml) alternative?
i don't think 2A has ever heard of that.
- Blofeldt0
I don't think it's a very original idea, but they can just let it run now. If it's an internal 2A project they they've used the downtime well to create a new, low maintence revenue stream

Good idea for extracting money from businesses but the site was pretty fucked, I had the same probs as 4cY - stuff not lining up and stupidly slow animations especially in the demo. Poor quality work, they need to test more before going live with a site.
- Blofeldt0
But the flashy site pisses me off.
I reckon a lot of small businesses don't have a broadband connection.

Not to make excuses, but I doubt they have many potential clients looking at this site with in Safari on a Mac. I assume they are targeting small businesses with tight purse strings. Why not have a service so the guy who's starting up a roofing company, or body shop can have a logo without having to dish out dollars he probably doesn't have. They saw an opportunity in the market and put together a product that could make money off of that opportunity. Good on them.

I think it might get people who wouldn't have thought about design thinking a bit.
You know how much clients fiddle with design work (left a bit, right a bit). Well, i think they'd think this was great but after a while using it or after a few months with their logo they might think
"hey, i like this globle logo, but i wish that bit was over a bit, and the globe was chequred, and i wish it could turn into a unicorn and fly away."
Then they're into a bespoke design and might come calling.

can someone make a screendump of them logos cuz i can't even get to them here..
well at least not without getting all epileptic looking at it..
- _niko0
here's the problem.
some of those logos aren't that bad, but it still takes a designer to pick a proper logo with the proper colours and font to suit the company's image.
I'l bet that 95% of the clients pick some crappy, comic sans, clashing colour, generic nighmare of a logo.
in the end, they'll have to pony up some real dough to get a professional to do it.

no, i am not depressed. as a matter of fact i only see more clear now, and i conclude it is flashy bling-bling rubbish like this that make the internet a joke..
utter shite.

i am not talking about all that here!
the site goes bezerk on my system, and i don't think that was intentional.
it's completely fucked!
at least make it accessible for all the platforms!!

It's a natural (and technological) progression from those Insta™ business card machines you find in railway stations and airports.
Whilst it's a nice idea, i'd be surprised if the target market (cheap bar stewards) know how to surf the net, let alone find this site.

It's only one facet of how people use design, if you're not in this genre of the design industry I wouldn't panic.
- drake0
I really hope this isn't the future of design...
- drake0
Gives design a bad name.
- 4cY0
well screw this site..
i tried to look further but the site keeps flashing and shaking...
it is extremely horrible to use.
- BonSeff0
decades of experience built right in!!
we have a database of only the finest clip art in which to generate your logo for the low low price of one fifty.that's too bad. want wait for the spam emails to arrive in about a month
- geeque0
I like the site and the idea. Wish I'd thought of it!
- 4cY0
i cannot believe anyone is postive about this.
this is sad.
