http://www.penabrand.com
just linked on K10k. good content...but THE PIXEL FONTS, COME ON!
- k770
so damn critical
- brundlefly0
I can read them, big deal
- Derek20
it just drives my nuts to know the pixels could be square...
like, i know it wasnt intentional...
- Derek20
im not bashing them specifically...
its just another site that could have been just that much more...
- rasko40
no he's right, its a shame, such a nice site to overlook the detail.. and actually, I couldn't read it unless I tried real hard.
- Derek20
like, rasko4,
do you really think they want that look?
if they could see the site with crisp fonts, theyd be like.. "thats way better"
lol
blurry fonts is lack of attention to detail. which equals sloppy work to me.
blurry pixel fonts just piss me off so much.
that, and 29.97 FPS vs 24 fps.
just got a new 24P camera, and i aint never looking back to 29.97.. it just pisses me off..
lol
- rasko40
forgive my ignorance but why 29.97? surely the more fps the better? and besides, isn;t it always better to work in 21, 31, 41 fps etc... 24 fps is for old school video work no?
- rasko40
blured type=bad yes but I think you may be getting your pixels confused derek?
- unfittoprint0
what's a pixel font?
- BonSeff0
thank you unfittoprint
- BonSeff0
my guess is that it was the best way to fit the copy in the grid area they set up. pixel fonts can go wider than you'd like sometimes. it's more about the visual representation of the work anyway.
get over your pet peeve and respect it for what it is
- Derek20
hey rasko4,
im talking about video.
29.97 is standard NTSC... its hyper smooth.
the 24 fps looks soo much better.its like watching a reality tv show, and looking how the camera moves, vs watching how stuff moves in film, or most rap music videos shot with a high shutter, like 1/1000
- Derek20
"blured type=bad yes but I think you may be getting your pixels confused derek?"
no man...
i know exactly what they are doing wrong.
stuff has been moved my the .1 pixel, which blurrs it, or they have a pixel font which has spacings of more or less than 1 px.. such as .5 px or 1.2 px.
i totally can look past it, and see the content, cause it rocks...
but the lack of attention to detail is kinda sloppy to me..
- tfs__mag0
ummm it may just be me but i think it looks unprofessional when someone has some jumpy looking footage because the rendered it at anything less than 29.9. that might just be me though.
- Derek20
nono.. im not talking rendered at less that 29.97.
im talking about footage shot at 24 fps.
thats what film is shot at usally.
i find that 24fps looks MORE professional than 29.97
- rasko40
ok last post.. why talk video frames in a flash website thread?
we all know how to handle pixel fonts, and believe it or not I think the guys who designed the site may know a thing about it too*, did you consider that perhaps they comprimised certain things in order to gain other details like heavy leading perhaps I dont know.
*insert sarcasm signifier
- Derek20
this is my new baby
this camera is the SHIT.
http://www.panasonic.com/PBDS/su…
like.. honestly, once you shoot 24fps... you will never look back, until you want a very specific ultrasmoothlook or something.
24 fps looks so amazing. its insane.
- Derek20
i was just saying 29.97 pisses me off next to blurred pixel fonts
- BonSeff0
i still dont think it was a lack of attention to detail. i mean there is 'pixel fonts' all over the place.
sorry if the description area pissed you off so much you deemed it necessary to shout it loud in both columns.. too bad
- Derek20
almost all of the fonts are blurred
