depends what platform you are on, but I am mac and it was a pain in the ass to install on. plus it hosed all my preferences after installing. seems a big buggy.

I am on a P4 2.66
and a powerbook 17buying yes, tax write off, and upgrade prices.

well I am on a pc and both softwares ( I am talking about the illustrator and photoshop) seems quite improved in terms of processing speed. They both open quite fast and seems working faster on the their workspaces.
I haven't played with the photoshop new features, still working on 7 at work, but when I was playin with photoshop at the weekend, I have used the layer comp for the first time and it is niceee :)
also in illustrator you have pretty much new options, creating slick 3d boxes etc. is just a mouse away.
so I do recommend them for sure.

I got (bought) it recently, installation was fine but I was installing onto a new system so had no issues with prefs.
Illy is a little wierd, it's taking several minutes to make a new document but apart from that it runs fine. GoLive is a bit slow but everything else is sweet.
Go for it.

Hrm ... Illy's isnt weird here - I'm just annoyed that you cant save directly as a previous version of AI or EPS. You have to export the fil to do that now.

hmm that sounds like a pain, I havent met too many printers that have advanced past illy 9

i like it. i love folders in folders in ps now. and lots of other tweaks i havent used yet.

CorelDraw 4 in 1996 had effects/options/tools that Illustrator and Freehand are still adding today.

love it - even on my dinosaur TiBook 400 ..
Its a MONSTER install, a few gigs worth.

all my keyboard commands tanked and i had to recreate them the first day, but otherwise its not bad.
when i drag an image to the photoshop icon in the dock however, it will not open the file (as in previous versions). it'll only do that when i've quit the app...WTF? anyone else have this issue?

cinder gets an A+ for recognising where the majority of photoshop and illustrator's "new" features have come from.
but CS speed gets an A++
