The trick is to deal with the situation before it leads to something far more sinister. I would imagine the boy subconsciously directing inner turmoil at what the kittens represent. Helplessness, youth, beauty, family. He may see his position to resemble the feeble nature of the kittens, and is lashing out. Or he's just a real dick.

one died.. my god. how can you do that to something thats alive. i couldnt think of.. hurting anything thats remotely close to a household pet. i hope that kid gets hit by a car. if he'll hurt cats.. he'll hurt humans eventually. thats how those sick fuckers get started. next he'll set a dog on fire... then he'll shoot his mom in the face.

yes, though I read this article about how because of technology today, people think of themselves more as robots. Like if something is wrong with them, they think of it as a mechanical malfunction.
And, im doin good, joe. Did a few freelancing gigs, now i got a fulltime job building networks and server farms. Not something i wanna do, but it's good money and gives me time to put some shit together for my portfolio.

while this is horrible, a thought also occured to me.
people seem to react so much because the victim was the kitten. would they still care so much if it was, say, spiders or plants? many people smash spiders, or trim plants (for aesthetic reasons, not to remove the dead parts).

spiders don't share the same type of relationships with humans as cats or dogs, nor do they display the same level of cognizant behavior, so apathy for a spider or plant is not surprising... not unless you're buddhist.
