Web Design Glamourous?!!

i over heard another web designer chatting to someone as if his job was that of a rockstar. He was chatting about all the cool
partys he gets to go to cause he is a designer, and all the fit models he is banging.
Even when people ask me what i do i cringe cause the seem really impressed that i am designer.. in a phrase.. i am a corporate whore...
the reality is:
-> we are very underpaid..
-> work stupid hours looking at a computer screen all day...
->our work is never appreciated....
->we are the first to be made redundant as creativity is seen as the most expendable....
->our work is destroyed by tasteless, uncreative witless clients who think they know how to design....
->the account managers get the credit for the design which we spend hours creating!
or am i just missing something...

Apparently, people thing its glamorous, but, I'm wondering, is it really? I think you're right. But its better than being a registered nurse, and wiping other folks heinies and injecting them with substances. (My girlfriends are nurses)

I have always found the ones with the most talent, & the most flawless minds are the ones who do treat it like a job, life shouldn't merge with your career.....
I know this seperation is impossible as many of us work 16 hour days 6-7 days a week, but I find there is nothing more BORING, than someone talking shop after I just did 16 hours of that shit.
Spend your down time being yourself.

Being a web designer is not glamourous. It's more a question of where you work and how much you make, or how goood of a shmoozer you are.
I did get to drive on a bus from SF to LA with 2 penthouse pets....and spent some time at a photo shoot with some Playboy Playmates... It was fun.. but not glamourous. Sometimes I get to stay at some plush LA hotels.. but its all about who you are..glamour is smoke and mirrors.
