the name is "A. dupuis productions"
the company edits books (especially comics), movies and merchandising. The symbol represents an "A" but also a text buble in comics.

It looks like an "O", an "0" or an "Q"

i like the graphic on number 4.
it creates the most interest with the speach bubble breaking through and the different shaped elipses.
possibly try placing it above the type and off to the right, see how that looks. (over the u and i).nice work

I should make the type a little more compact, 'productions' optical the same size as Dupuis. Productions looks bigger I think.

It's nice but....
I think you can pull the typography in a bit without the client noticing.
It just seems a bit empty and spacious. I dunno if this will feck up as it gets smaller but try pulling the kerning in and moving the two lines closer.
Also the 'a' currently hangs off the logo and doesn't correspond to either of the two lines. So it could be dupuis productions and the 'a' is lost.
Hav you tried using the a next to the dupuis in the speech bubble and then opening up the kerning on the 'productions' so that it becomes almost an underlining?
At the moment it looks like the productions part is saying 'a'... which is a little wierd.
But hey I like it. the client likes it so don't beat yerself up about it. Just fiddle a bit. My money is on the logotype 'a' alongside the 'dupuis' and the 'productions' opened out and underneath.
