my dad decided to buy a laptop for each of my 2 bro's and myself for christmas ... he's going with the Dell deal for $599...
does anyone know of any other notebook pc deals that are good? i am willing to chip in $200-$300 more dollars to improve on the pc my dad is getting me. here are some of the Dell specs..

Yeah, for that money, you're not getting a Mac. But I still love my Minime style Powerbook. I wouldn't part with it for anything.

btw slink, i'd stick with dell. they don't look like they were designed in 1997 like many of the compaqs and hps and they are made well and also are powerhouses!

yeah a base g4 ibook is pretty sweet, the base model dells are really not quite as much boom for your buck.
but either is a good choice for the cash....good luck!

ur not gonna really beat that dell deali paid 2600$ for this g4 ibook im on right now.. and i love it, but its 3 times the price..
i would use the 2 or 3 bills and put in more RAM.. and you'll be winning.

oh except for games I keep a 2.66 P4 in the office, just a toy though :)
