It is a great place to work, just not as good as it could be. Quite conservative in aspiration, and they dont like to upset people.
I dont mean to blow my own trumpet, but I am good at what I do (did) and I do say what I think.

if you already have good relations with your boss and he/she doesn't know how you feeel about them, don't say anything, if they think highly of you already, it's good to have them as a reference

exactly... all he's saying is that he's good at his job, won some awards, earnt some clients some good money... sounds like thats the kind of job everyone should be doing...

im nowt like that guy btw. Im slightly confident of my own abilities, but I can document them... if needbe.
I think though if I wasnt going away, Id go on my own about now like james, as I have nothing left to learn here, only more to give, which incidentally they dont pay me enough for.
