The books by chris and trish meyer.........
creating motion graphics with after effects 1

" " High Impact Animation for Video and Film
after effects in production
which one would be the best???.any ideas??
Im a fairly confident after effects user looking to learn the facts and the right way to do things........also looking for some creative tutorials... and to advance myself with confidence.......
ive heard one book is aimed towards the standard AE version :( ......and one leans towards macs more with 3rd part plugs.......... :(
but thats all ive gathered from reviews but i need to make a choice now!!

I know the chris and trish meyer books are good for the basics, also check out the friends of ed books. You'll probably outgrow them all fairly quickly though - but they are good reference. Also try looking through the table of contents on Amazon to see which appeals more to you.
Tutorials are good at http://www.creativecow.net/ , try posting this question there or the http://www.2-pop.com forums. They are both extremely helpful.

There is a lot of info on AE book if you use the search.
I always recommend the Classroom in a Book series from Adobe. It's very well written and covers everything.
I would also get the book that covers third party plugins. That's something Adobe doesn't cover in their book.

thats all well and good for technique, but once its down dont let technique get in the way of your design process....theres already enough bad motion work out there because people figure out how to use AE and think theyre a master.
