IMovie capture

    I'm trying to capture video from my Canon GL-1 to my 17" Powerbook in iMovie but I only get about a second long clip. Is there anyway to make the software work the way it's supposed to - capture video as long as I still have the camera running and don't press the stop button in iMovie?

    I'm going to try Premiere 6.5 now, but I'm not optimistic about that either. It's always a battle for some reason.
