Anyone have any experience with these monitors?
- zaven0
wow you can use it in portrait mode!
- m0rt0
Yep. I'm just hoping the color accuracy would be as good as a CRT monitor.

that's almost non-existant... crt is the way to go if you're designing (unless it's a mac stuido display.. and even then you're hurting)
I searched high and low for about a month and couldn't find anything that matched a crt by way of flatscreen.

What CRT would you recommend?
- brundlefly0
crt thing is better for colours, but were talking like 10% maybe, and thats if you can get the colours to work properly, or can maintain temperarture, etc etc etc....
for web and print FP displays have come a really long way....I personally like the Samsung monitors, because of there 1 bad pixel, they will replace policy....you wont get that from Lacie, NEC, and you sure wont get it from apple.

hmmm - that's interesting about the Samsung guarantees.

I have a Photon20... love it.
I produce an online magazine... lots of photos, no color problems... but then we don't print anything so we don't have any color matching problems.Main point for me is that an LCD is way sharper than any CRT (I can see each pixel clearly), which rates higher for me than color accuracy (which seems OK anyway)... and I just need lots of desktop to see lots of pages at once.
and.. the Photon20 has an included clamp stand, 3yr warranty, dual inputs, the rotating thing (Windows only)... and nice thin bezel if you are thinking of running 2 of them next to each other (Apple Displays dont do this so well with that huge bezel)

Yea, I mainly design for web also so this just might be the ticket. It sure is a sexy looking monitor.
Did you get any dead pixels on yours? Do you know what their policy is with that?
- ribit0
no problems so far.. I imagine they are good on the support side considering it has a 3yr warranty.

I'vew heard good things about the Sharp line of monitors...especialy one of their 19" (can't recall the name).
and you can get them in standard computer off-white... so you can be different than all the black and silver clad users out there... old school ivory is the new black (when it comes to monitors)
