i do some. i just recently started learning opengl. i cut my teeth on blender and python (as far as novice game development goes). but, i'm not a designer...so, the code is the easy part.
:)
i am looking for designers who can do character design/art and development...
it is a new field for me. i've been stuck in application development for too long.

i was in philly, then jersey, and now i'm kinda jersey and nyc. :)

same story, have fun. I'm coming back for three weeks in December. I have off work, should be fun. Had to leave, no work.

i might be flying out to nyc sometime early next year. i've got a couple of friends living in nyc. one is a computer geek - he is in ai development and something else beyond me...his roommate (both missouri boys like me) is an actor, professor, etc and looks a lot like andre the giant.
he's kinda hard to miss. :)

and here I am paying full price for the CS upgrade... oh well... I guess it keeps you guys in software too... could some of you help me pay my rent though?
I once saw Photoshop copies from Hong Kong... they didnt trim the CD insert sleeve very well, the funny thing is you could see a bit of the next page, and it wasnt even another Adobe app..it was Corel Painter or something (who would have thought those two companies share printing facilities!)

cool,
i've been working on a game for the past 4-5 months
Anyway, Im useing the OGRE engine for it. it's the best open-source engine so far, and i think ive tried them all. Fuckin beautiful API, and friendly developers too. Check it out.

NYC can't be stopped, more work will come back around very soon. I'll move back when it does.

you know, i can tolerate pirating a copy from your office that the office paid for the license.
(as long as you're not using it for client work...)
:)
- toastie0
hehe, yeah.
Tryin to walk the fine line between design and nerddom :P

i gave up on that. everything i need to work with is on linux.
besides, i like the gtk library a lot for ui development.

i don't have time for any real freelance gigs working full time and commuting two hours a day... i'm lucky to be able to work on my skate site! if i ever took up the design/develop biz as a home business i would just go get a business loan and get all up to code. hopefully by the time the upgrades came out i'd be able to afford it.
