anybody know if it's dangerous to have a lot of tables in a mysql database?
i'm working on an intranet type thing and i've got about 20 tables and may eventually have as many as 30. most don't have that many rows, but i'm just wondering if it's gonna run slow or crash one day.

30? that's it? yeah, i think you'll be fine..

haha, tight.
thanks.

although, i'd cut back on normalization if you'll be doing a lot of updating /inserting. locking recorsets consumes time which results in lag. but if this is purely for data retreival, you'll be fine.

Here's an answer straight from the horses mouth, Monty, mySQL developer. Here's another link, and one more for good measure.

AW crap. How do make links? Plain old HTML doesn't work apparently.
Anyway, here are the raw links.

Yeah 30 is tiny. You'll have no problem with that many.
