Beatles, preferrably the earlier stuff. A Hard Days Night is one of my favorite movies.

I'm as hard core a Beatles fan as there is, but I'll admit Paul is a load since the breakup.
This is a good story though. The year Elvis died, Paul wrote a song that he intended to give to Elvis to get him out and singing again instead of puking himself to death. It didn't work. He died before Paul was finished.
Here is the song:

¿ALL YOUR ELVIS ARE BELONG TO NUMBERS?
¿ALL YOUR BEATLES ARE BELONG TO YOU?

This thread was started when Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction asked Vincent Vega this same question in a delete "Pulp Fiction" scene.
Although I'd rather identify with Elvis (Long side-burns are back!) Listening to Sgt Pepper, White Album, Abbey Road, you realize how genius the Beatles are. And the ideas and techinques they introduced revolutionized music, from AOR, expirmentation, multi-track recording, and exploring cultural and political issues. Hardly the same can be said for Elvis.

I remember this thread well and I don't think Elvis even compares at all. Talk about Dylan or Miles Davis but here is a very good view on Elvis' legend:

no john, they played ON more number one hits. The guy blowing on a trumpet isn't the same as the guy that said "I am the Walrus", even if he gets together with the dude playing the trombone.

phuck elvis to the highest extent. and give the beatles their props, simple songs that sound excellent. and phuck oasis for ripping off the beatles even if openly...though i like the dude's voice. phuck elvis though for real...all those people that imitate him should try imitating someone worthy of being imitated, like frank zappa or some shit
