even if it wasn't... as long as you're not sharing them on the internet how would anyone find out?

Cause all my f-ing music that i copied from my cd collection to my work computer was just DELETED!!!
Reason: so we are not involved with any copyright issues.

I will be there.

it's legal only if you smoke pot that you grew for personal consumption while listening to the music that you burned. wow, that was hard to type.

That isn't your personal computer. Your employer can regulate how they like. I can't blame them. Afterall, if shit happens, you are not going to be willing to pay the copyright bill right?
Sucks though, MP3 DVD's are nice. Give that a try if you can.
word!

A nice little "hey, you want to keep any of this?" would've been nice.
"Afterall, if shit happens, you are not going to be willing to pay the copyright bill right?
"
So there is a legal issue doing this?

Well the ones you make from your own CD are OK...except the Michael Jackson ones. Those are now wanted by the police.
Any mp3's you've stolen from the web should be sent back here.

on your personal computer no problem. as said before your work computer is your employers responsibility. you were not violating the law; they probably see it as a better safe than sorry policy.
company I worked for years ago received millions in fines for sharing within the company.
